Greetings,
I have spoken to France Sarradon ( RE Therapist) in New Mexico recently about RE training. She indicated that there was a certification/training course in MML and that if I was interested I should check into it. I am not interested in going back to school full time to get my counseling/therapist degree, but I am interested in teaching this fabulous tool in any way that I can (without having to get a degree in Counseling ).
I have been a massage therapist for 14 years and am ready to add something else to my tool chest.
I can travel. I have perused the websites and as far as I can see the next training in Kentucky is in Nov. However is anything happening in Calif with Mary Ortwewin? ( in terms of a training)
Many thanks
Robin
Robin – thanks for inquiring about MML in California. Mary Ortwein (co-author of MML) was in California for several days in mid-August but has returned to her home in Kentucky and is not scheduled to be back in California in the near future HOWEVER, you can see what MML classes are currently scheduled in California by going to http://www.camarriage.com, and clicking on “classes & trainings”. Our California MML training procedure is that a person attends a full MML class as a participant first, and then attends an MML Leader Training. Again, look at the website and see what might work for you.

Bento, THANK YOU for getting back to me! Since I wrote the above I have started to consider going back to school for an MA in Counseling…but that having been said based on your input and a few other people I have spoken to who have done the “Love’s Cradle” or MML trainings they all suggest taking them as a starting point on this path.
Seems logical and practical to me before committing to a goodly chunk of money to go back to school right now. Mary Ortwein indicated that having done the RE therapy with my partner I might be able to just jump into the Leader training. But I am not in a hurry and do not want to short cut the process in any way. SO one last question: Are MML and Love’s Cradle the same thing?…and I am confused as to who teaches the trainings, I thought it was Mary? Is that correct?
Thanks agani, I will go to the website you recommend above.
Robin
Robin,
Actually, MML and Loves’ Cradle are actually slightly different programs, though they both feature the same 10 core communication skills. To find out more about their unique features and differences, check out Mary Ortwein’s website at http://www.skillswork.org.
All the best!
